Blessed

There is a lady at my church who is an amazing women of God and a true inspiration to me.
Whenever people commonly ask, "How are you?" she always simply responds, "I'm blessed". About a year ago she was run over by a car while out shopping. She broke most every bone in her body. When she was in the hospital she had loads of people coming by to cheer her and ask her how she was doing. As always she would answer, "I'm blessed"
You would look at her and think, "Oh the poor lady!" No, that's where your wrong! She is blessed, blessed, blessed! Most people in her situation would go around in their wheelchair and mumble how awful it was. She looks at the real picture- she has everything. Her heavenly Father is watching every step. She is blessed! After she had recovered enough to start coming to our service again, she got up in our prayer service. She testified about how for the first time, she had a pity party. She gave up, she was sick of going around with her legs and hands wrapped up. She was asking God, "Why me?" God gave her these verses:

Matthew 5
The Beatitudes
1Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2and he began to teach them saying:
3"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

WE ARE BLESSED! We, as Christians, are blessed more than we see. If you are reading this- you are blessed. If you are a Christian- you are blessed. If you have clothes to wear and food to eat- you are blessed. If you keep walking in God's path then all you can get is more and more blessed.

So as you go through today remind yourself how truly blessed you are!
