- There is only One True and Living God (Revelations 17:14; Isaiah 46:9); the Creator of everything (Colossians 1:16-17).
- He is a just and loving God (1 John 4:9-10, 16; Hebrews 6:10) who cares about each and every one of us (1 Peter 5:7; Psalm 139).
- God has always been and will always be (Revelation 4:8).
- God never contradicts Himself or His Word (Titus 1:2).
- The Bible, God’s Holy Word, was divinely inspired by Him (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
- It is infallible, without error, and the ultimate authority in our lives (Psalm 12:6; Psalm 119:89; Proverbs 30:5-6).
- It is wrong to add or take away from any part of God’s Word (Revelation 22:18-19; Matthew 5:18-19; Proverbs 30:6).
- We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (1 John 5:5), born of a virgin (Matthew 1:23).
- Jesus came to earth and lived a perfect life (Hebrews 4:15) and died on the cross to pay for our sins (1 John 2:1-2).
- Three days after His death, Jesus rose from the grave and conquered sin (Matthew 28:6).
- Through His grace, Jesus offers anyone eternity with Him in Heaven (Romans 6:23).
- The only way to get to Heaven is to believe in Jesus Christ, repent from your sin, and accept His gift of eternal life (John 14:6; Romans 10:9,13; Acts 4:12).
- When you accept Jesus as your Savior, you become His child (John 1:12; Romans 8:16-17) and are saved from the punishment of sin (eternity in hell).
- You can never lose your salvation (Ephesians 1:13-14); once you are saved, no one can snatch you from the Father’s hand (John 10:27-29).
Jesus wants to have a personal relationship with you. He will be your best friend if you just allow Him to come into your heart. Do you want that personal relationship with Him? It’s really easy! Here is how:
The first thing you need to realize is that you are a sinner. Sin is anything you say or do that displeases God, or is against His Word. The Bible says this in Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”.
Because of our sin, we are separated from God and cannot have a relationship with him. But… Romans 5:6-8 “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love for us in this” While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
God gave up His only Son, Jesus Christ, so that we would be able to personally know Him. Christ died for us because we cannot work hard enough, do enough good things, or suffer enough, to work our way into Heaven and to God. Titus 3:4-6 “But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior.”
Salvation is a gift. Like other gifts, the only thing you have to do is accept it. To accept it, you must repent of your sin. Acts 3:19 “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”
You must place your faith in Christ alone. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this not from by words, so that no one can boast.”
Finally, you must surrender your life to Jesus and make Him Lord. Romans 10:9-10, 13
“That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” … “for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”
You can become a Christian right now if you will:
Repent of your sin
Place your faith in Jesus
Surrender your life to Him as Lord
All you have to do is say a simple prayer. Just talk to God as if you were talking to your best friend. If you truly mean what you say, Jesus will save you immediately. The following is a sample prayer. It is just an outline; feel free to say whatever you feel.
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and right now, I ask you to forgive me. I know that you died for my sin and I invite you into my heart to be my Savior and Lord. I willingly turn from my sin and give my life to you. Amen.
Congratulations! If you have just prayed this prayer you have been accepted into the family of Christ!! Please, if you made this decision talk to someone about it. Anyone here at iheart would be glad to talk to you about it. Email us at iheartministry@yahoo.com and share with us your good news!
