Do you have a healthy heart?

You have 2 kinds of hearts- a physical one and a spiritual one. Today I am going to talk about the more important one- your spiritual heart. Is it healthy? If so, how do you know? Well first of all to have a spiritually healthy heart you have to have a personal relationship with Jesus, read your Bible everyday, and talk to God. Just like eating too much junk food is bad for your physical heart, so is hanging around the wrong kinds of people.
1 Corinthians 15:33
says: Do not be mislead: "Bad company corrupts good character." Maybe you hang around people
that use God's name in vain. You don't say it but all of your friends do. You think, oh I will never do that. Well the more you hang out with them the more it seems okay. After awhile you will find yourself saying it and not even thinking about it. It becomes easy for us to accept sin the more you hang around it. Exodus 20:7 says: "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name." That's a serious thing. We want sin to be detestable to us, something that we can't stand. When you see a movie and you hear people cussing and see them doing the wrong things, you need to remember that every single sin that is committed was another sin that Jesus carried on the cross. You are driving another nail into his body when you disobey your parents, misuse God's name, lie... the list goes on. This week, evaluate your heart, and be more conscious of what you are doing, and try not to let sin be something you tolerate. If you hear someone gossiping about another person, go up and tell them to stop, or say something nice about the person they are talking about. Have a great week!

Love in Christ,
