Purity

Hi girls!
I know y'all probably hear a lot about purity and I know that most of you have goals and convictions about staying pure! Which is awesome! :) I wanted to share with you this example that really puts things into perspective.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You have a piece of tape. So maybe sometime you hold a guy's hand, give him a hug, you put a little piece of dirt on your tape. You think, oh, it's okay you can barely even tell. Then throughout your middle school and high school years you share your heart little by little to a few guys. A few more pieces of dirt and guess what? Your tape isn't sticky anymore! What happened?! You didn't ever go that far with those guys, they were just crushes. You were playing the "boyfriend girlfriend" game. But you were giving part of yourself away every single time, and before long your tape wasn't sticky any longer. So then you get serious about your life, find the perfect guy, he loves God, he wants a family. You're about to get married, you walk up to the altar, he shows you his piece of tape. It's sticky without a smudge or a smear on it. But then, shamefully, you show him yours. It's crumbled and dirty. Barely sticks to anything. How would you feel? I'm thinking that most of you would feel regret and sorrow. You would feel dirty and used. Like you can't measure up, like you have given your heart away, and can't get it back. That is so true in many peoples lives! But there is good news!! If your tape has already been dirty, it's okay. Because God can wipe your slate clean. He cannot take away the fact that your tape was dirty, but you can ask for forgiveness and ask Him to help you purify yourself once again. And then, once that is all behind you, you can start fresh and clean. I can tell you all right now that I have gotten my tape a little dirty before, and I regret that more then you can believe. But I know, that by the precious blood of Christ, I am free from my sin and can live for Jesus with all I've got. Here are some verses that you can think about or memorize about purity.

Song of Solomon 8:4

Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you:
Do not arouse or awaken love
until it so desires.

1 Peter 3:3&4

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment,
such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.
Instead, it should be that of your inner self,
the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit,
which is of great worth in God's sight.

1 Timothy 4:12

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young,
but set an example for the believers in speech,
in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

I hope you all are having a great day! Feel free to email or PM us with comments or questions.

In Christ,
Jessica
