Bless His Name

Come, let us sing for joy
Let us shout aloud to our King
Come, let us worship God
Lifting holy hands, bless His name

Lord, we come to meet with You again
To worship with one voice in adoration
You deserve our every praise
That echoes in this place
You're the worthy One

Lord, we come with gratitude that flows
From deep within our souls
We rejoice in You
(And) We will glory in Your name
With a shout our lips proclaim
The praises stirring in our hearts

Every creature in Heaven and Earth below
Bless His name, bless His name

Does this sound weird to you? God is supposed to give us blessings, isn't He? Why would we bless His name? That's simple- God is a holy, perfect, kind, loving, saving God. We should love Him with all we say and do.
How can we bless God? Throughout the Bible their are accounts of God blessing people and people blessing others; but not people blessing God.

Luke9:47-48
47Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him. 48Then he said to them, "Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For he who is least among you all—he is the greatest."

So how do we bless God? By blessing others. Everything you do for another person is like doing that for the Lord. Think about that- God loves us so much that He feels blessed when we bless others or do something kind for them, and feels hurt when we behave unkindly! Today, think of someone you can go out of your way to bless, and bless God in the process!

In Christ Alone,
Becky :)
