Prayer

Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened"
James 4:2- You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God.

If you pray with the wrong motive for the wrong thing, you are not going to get what you are asking God for. You can't get God's help unless you ask.
When we pray to God and ask Him for something, He will answer. Maybe He will answer with a yes, no, or maybe, but He will always answer.

Philippians 4:6, 19- Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God...19And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

When we need help or encouragement, why do we ask everyone except God? We need to be relying on God for everything. You have to have full trust in Him. Pray and ask God for grace to get you through the day.

James 4:6-7: But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

When we pray we need to be humble to accept what God's answer is. We cannot be proud, we have to be teachable and have a soft heart.
Hannah (1 Samuel 1) asked God for a child, not any other person. We have to be diligent in our praying and not give up! If you are praying for the salvation of a family member or friend, never stop. If you are not praying for people that you know are not saved, you need to be! What if that one prayer from you brings them to Christ? When we pray we are to seek God with our whole heart.
Seek means to- To inquire for; to ask for; to solicit; to beseech; To try to acquire or gain; to strive after; to aim at, to pursue
PUSH! Pray Until Something Happens
Whatever God's answer is, it's for our good! Don't be afraid to ask God. You can trust Him!

James 5:16- Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Make it your goal to spend some time each day in prayer to the Lord. Find a quiet place and talk to your Savior. He wants to hear from you!

1 Timothy 2:8a- I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer.

God is calling you to pray! Pray for your lost friends, share prayer requests. Don’t reject the simple task God is asking you to do. Pray!

In Christ,
Jessica ♫
