Breaking free?

We all have our little bubbles, our comfort zones. Usually we don't go beyond them. We are only so outgoing, so open about our faith. I really do believe that as Christians we are called to do more. To go a little bit further. I can easily ask my "church friends" what they are reading in their quiet time, or where they are spiritually. That doesn't phase me a bit. But when you get me around a bunch of girls, who have no idea what they are doing, they aren't saved, they don't know their purpose in life. I start to freak out. I'm like, "Okay, Jesus you really want me to talk to them? Are you sure their isn't someone else?" I know that's what I have to do... so here I go, "so, um... do you guys know for sure if you're going to heaven if you die? I really don't want you guys to go to hell." Okay, maybe not the best thing to say at first but hey, at least I said something... right? :P

I'm sure all of us are that way to a certain extent. :)

In Matthew 28:19 Jesus says to his disciples to "go and make disciples of all nations" and then in Acts, you see them bring 3,000 people to Christ in one day. One day. Do you think that the disciples wanted to be ridiculed, they wanted to be persecuted? Of course not! But they were on fire for God! They did not want to keep this amazing news to themselves! They took God seriously, and did something. I challenge you to get outside of your comfort zones. Take what God says to you seriously.

James 2:17
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Luke 15:3-7
Then Jesus told them this parable: 4"Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' 7I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Jesus left the 99, to go after 1. One lost sheep. One lost soul, who needed a Savior. Don't you think that even though it makes you uncomfortable to stand out, or it makes you nervous to talk about your faith in front of others, that if you brought one person to Christ, it would all be worth it? Faith without deeds is worthless, make your faith worth something.

In His Love,
Jessica
